The National Association of Retired Federal Employees was started in 1921. It's Preample reads:

"In order that the retired employees may receive from the government of the United States remuneration to which their long and faithful service entitles them; to aid them in securing their rights under the retirement law; for the promotion of their general welfare; and to secure legislation perfecting the retirement law; the National Association has been formed."
